Access: Enford House is situated in the village of Enford in the Avon Valley. Parts of the house are over 3 hundred years old and we aim to meet the needs of all our guests to the best of our ability. However, there are some aspects of the property that might make staying with us difficult for people with limited mobility. For example, 2 of the guest bedrooms are on the first floor and the one on the ground floor has a couple of steps leading to it. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.

Pre-Arrival

  • There is a bus stop at Enford on the A345 with a 2 minute walk to the house. Buses run from Amesbury to Pewsey. The local train station is Pewsey. There are a couple of taxi companies operating in the area. Please ask for details.
  • The village pub is a short walking distance but we have no local shop within walking distance, however there are local village shops in Netheravon and Upavon, both 5 minutes drive away
  • In Amesbury and Pewsey (both 10 mins drive) there are lots of local amenities and shops
  • You can contact us by email and phone (details below)

Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

You step up 1 step into the sitting room which is carpeted.  You then step up another step into bedroom 3 which has laminated flooring and a rug.
  • Ceiling height in the property is generous with only 2 doorways that are slightly low and may require a taller person to bend their head slightly.   Otherwise there is no issue of low ceilings.
  • The stairs to the first floor lead from the kitchen/dining room. There are 12 steps to the top where a little landing takes you on the right into bedroom 2. From the little landing you go up 3 more steps into bedroom 1. Bedroom 1 has an ensuite bathroom and there is 1 step from the bedroom into the bathroom area. There is a handrail up the main stairs and 2 handrails on step going into bedroom 1
